In 2018, MSPreacher, formerly Mississippi Women Preachers, group page was launched 1) to meet a need of connecting preaching women, 2) to feature preaching and teaching of women, 3) to celebrate the anointed gifts of preaching women, and 4) to encourage women in ministry (WIM) as we endeavor to work alongside our clergy brothers, in respect and unity.
In 2019, we began regional meetings across MS, along with discussions on the group page, inviting anyone interested, to help formulate ideas for a “gathering” with the purpose to train, sharpen, encourage, and pour into active and upcoming WIM. In the process, preaching sisters from Louisiana joined the vision!
It’s 2020, and we made it! With an evident unifying of the Holy Spirit, Women Clergy from MS and LA have designed our inaugural “Gathering 2020” for the edifying of the Body of Christ. We entreat every woman in ministry and interested in ministry to join us March 26-28, 2020, in Columbia, MS. Early Bird Registration is extended thru March 7th. #WPG2020
In 2021, with the impact of Covid, the slow down of activity, and an attempt to stay healthy, we decided to go online with it! Great women were set to train, encourage, and minister. We did get a brief start, however, technology did not lend us the opportunity to fully execute, but we looked forward to 2022. Growing pains are a gain.
In 2022, our visionary partnered with a local municipality to host a great event. All events and activities were provided at no cost to ensure all 2020 registered participants could enjoy the effects of a full event but at no cost. Business leaders training was provided. We enjoyed a great outdoor Celebration Event and area tours (sneak peeks) of upcoming and grand new facilities.
